Foreign companies want local Chinese managers

If a Chinese executive has a good MBA the future is very rosy. On September 28, Fudan University released the report of a first ever research on the Management of the Leading Foreign Enterprises in China, showing that more and more foreign enterprises in China plan to or have started to recruit local Chinese managers, with the proportion exceeding 70 percent.

The research involved more than 40 well-known foreign companies, such as the Citibank of New York, General Electric and Ford in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong, Zhejiang, and other major business areas in China. An increasing number of big, fast-expanding foreign companies in China want to employ more Chinese local professional managers in the expanding process.

Nearly three quarters of these companies are looking for Chinese managers, with most planning to complete the recruitment in three years. There tends to be an increasingly severe competition between these foreign companies to snatch capable (mainly MBA certified) local Chinese talent.
