For over 50 years, the MBA program at the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, has helped thousands of professionals succeed in their businesses and careers.

Since the launch of the UBC IMBA in 2002, numerous working professionals in Asia have become part of an exciting new tradition, taking the opportunity to earn the globally recognized IMBA from Canada's leading academic business school without leaving their careers.

Ranked among the top 100 business schools by the "Financial Times" - an achievement that places it among the top five percent in the world - the Sauder School of Business at UBC is accredited by both AACSB and EQUIS. In cooperation with the Antai College of Economics and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Sauder School of Business at UBC offers the UBC IMBA program on a part-time basis and delivers a comprehensive business education in 20 months.

The Sauder School of Business is uniquely positioned to offer an international perspective on the challenges of doing business in a global marketplace. At the beginning of the program, students take part in the Integrated Core - a unique experience providing a strong foundation in accounting, finance, information technology, operations logistics, marketing, human resources management, and strategy. Team-taught as one comprehensive course by Sauder School of Business faculty representing different core disciplines, it fosters the broad management perspective and cross-functional skills necessary to tackle complex business challenges.

During the core, students travel to Vancouver, Canada, for two weeks to meet their Canadian counterparts and gain an international perspective on doing business in North America. The remainder of the course is taught in Shanghai with professors coming in from the main campus monthly to teach the courses. Students get the best of both worlds: part-time study in China and an intensive two-week learning experience on the beautiful UBC campus in Vancouver.

In addition to earning a globally recognized degree, students of the IMBA also become part of the Sauder School alumni which includes more than 28,000 alumni in 65 countries and regions. For the past 26 years, The University of British Columbia, Sauder School of Business has had a strategic partnership with the Antai School of Economics and Management. More than 500 senior Chinese officials have attended executive development programs at the Sauder School of Business including former minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation and UBC honorary alum, Shi Guangsheng.

Shi said of his time at UBC: "It left me with a lasting impression of the beauty of the campus and the first class professors."

Shi also spoke about the IMBA program, saying: "I am sure that UBC's International MBA program in Shanghai will make a strong contribution to management in China."
