Class of 2007 visit Arizona

The W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University is hosting 35 senior Chinese government officials and executives. They are part of the class of 2007 in the schools Shanghai MBA program and are spending five days visiting ASU and Valley business leaders. They then will visit New York before returning to China.

The program, which has attracted more than 280 senior Chinese executives, focuses on financial management and the functioning of capital markets. But to meet the needs of China’s developing service industry, the curriculum will expand in January to include a services management concentration.

Program director Buck Pei, said, ‘China, as the factory of the world, has created serious problems with environmental sustainability. China is accelerating the development of the services industry in an effort to be less reliant on manufacturing. The new services management concentration is designed to meet that need.’
