Beijing Infosession for Tsinghua-INSEAD Dual Degree Executive MBA

China's venture capital industry has grown rapidly to become the world’s second largest investment volume, yet far distanced from the United States. Hundreds of companies get started in China each year nowadays, financed by VC firms. A remarkable number have proven strong IPO exits (30 in 2006) on Nasdaq, Hong Kong, Singapore and Shenzhen, or they were acquired/merged (44 in 2006) by other major industry players.

How can Venture Capitalists (VC) help finance, navigate and assist the growth of the next generation startup companies in China and other countries? What are the does and don'ts when starting companies and what are the key learning from mistakes other entrepreneurs made? What industry sectors are hot today and in the future that get the VCs' attention? Why do international VC firms have a keen interest into China? Finally, how can potential entrepreneurs raise capital from Venture Capital in China, to build a successful company?

On 29th August, Dr. Martin Haemmig, visiting professor of the Tsinghua-INSEAD Dual Degree EMBA program, will give a presentation at Beijing Traders Hotel on the subject of “Venture Capital & Entrepreneurship - The International Angle”.
